Frequently Asked Questions
1. What’s the difference between pure linen and cotton-linen tablecloths?
Pure linen has a crisp, natural texture, excellent durability, and becomes softer with every wash. Cotton-linen blends combine linen’s look with cotton’s softness, and they tend to wrinkle less and be a little easier to care for. Choose pure linen for a classic, relaxed elegance, or a cotton-linen blend if you want something softer and lower-maintenance for everyday use.
2. How do I choose the right tablecloth size?
Measure your table’s length and width (or for oval tables, the longest and widest points), then add the drop you’d like on each side. A drop of about 6–8 inches (15–20 cm) on each side is common for everyday dining, while 10–15 inches (25–38 cm) gives a more formal look. For example, a 60" × 36" table with an 8" drop on each side needs a tablecloth of about 76" × 52".
3. Do you have tablecloths for oval tables?
Yes. Our oval tablecloths are cut specifically for oval tables, so they drape evenly all the way around without the bunched corners you get when using a rectangular cloth on an oval table.
4. How should I wash and care for my linen tablecloth?
Machine wash in cold or lukewarm water on a gentle cycle with a mild detergent. Avoid bleach, which can weaken the fibers. Tumble dry on low or line dry, and remove the tablecloth while it’s still slightly damp to reduce wrinkles. Iron on medium heat while damp if you prefer a crisp finish, or simply smooth it out and enjoy linen’s naturally relaxed texture.
5. Will my tablecloth shrink?
Natural fibers like linen and cotton can shrink slightly, especially in hot water or high-heat drying. Washing in cold water and drying on low heat or line drying will help your tablecloth keep its size. [Optional: mention if your tablecloths are pre-washed or pre-shrunk.]
6. Do linen tablecloths wrinkle easily?
Yes, some wrinkling is part of linen’s natural character, and many people love its relaxed, lived-in look. If you prefer a smoother finish, iron it while slightly damp, or choose a cotton-linen blend, which tends to wrinkle less.
7. Are your tablecloths stain resistant?
Linen is naturally durable and releases many stains well when they’re treated promptly. Blot spills as soon as possible, avoid rubbing, and rinse with cold water before washing. [Optional: mention if any of your products have a stain-resistant or water-repellent finish.]
